Human habitats, oasis and sanctuaries for urban animals, a living room transformed into a meadow from witch a view approximates to the industrial zone. In the piece Criteria for Comfort I crate a simple space which consists of a luminous display, a carpet, a coffee table, a sofa and three pictures on the wall, a space that resembles the space of my own oasis and I believe of many others across the human inherited world. Furniture overgrown in grass addresses the need to surround ourselves in healthy environments although they can be completely spurious and deceiving as well as the state of being that comes with too much relaxation when one feels powerless to escape the warm comforts of our precious spaces. Photographies on the wall, a common decoration in most homes, show dams and waste water treatment systems, industry that is contradictory to nature but necessary for the forms of pleasure that we enjoy so much.
